Teresa Zak

Teresa Zak is an attorney in the Health Care Practice Group of the national law firm Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal. Ms. Zak has focused her practice in the area of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and regulatory compliance issues. She has advised hospitals, health systems, physicians, and other health care providers regarding Medicare and Medi-Cal reimbursement and regulatory issues. She has represented hospitals in administrative appeals before the California Department of Health Services and the Provider Reimbursement Review Board and represented physicians and other providers at administrative hearings and in cases related to Medicare and Medi-Cal reimbursement in federal and state courts. She has performed fraud and abuse and compliance analysis for hospitals and health systems, and assisted clients in implementing compliance programs.

Ms. Zak received her bachelor's degree from the University of California-San Diego and her law degree from the University of Southern California Law School, where she was Publication Editor for the Review  of Law and Women's Studies. She is licensed to practice law in California and is a member of the American Health Lawyer's Association, the Health Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
